Description
The Ford Cosworth DFV is an engine-only kit produced by Tameo Kits.
I had always wanted to build a standalone engine, so this kit provided the perfect opportunity. Unlike an engine installed inside a completed model, every component remains visible, allowing me to focus on the finish and detail of each individual part.
Introduced in 1967, the 3.0-litre V8 Cosworth DFV became one of the most successful engines in Formula One history. It won on its debut at the 1967 Dutch Grand Prix and went on to power numerous championship-winning cars.
Once completed, one thing stood out above all else: its remarkably small size. This project was a good reminder of how much mechanical detail can be represented in 1/43 scale.
