Sharing My Porsche 963 on an International Modeling Community
After completing my 1/43 Porsche 963, I shared it with the international Facebook group "1/43 Resin and White Metal Car Kits." The model received a comment from one of the members and around 30 reactions. While I am pleased that the project attracted some attention, I had hoped for a stronger response. Perhaps choosing a modern Le Mans prototype was not the most popular subject among the group's members. It made me think about how different eras and categories of racing cars are received within the modeling community. This project was particularly challenging because no commercial 1/43 kit exists for this version. I used a 3D-printed body and explored a new approach to model building, investing a considerable amount of time and effort throughout the process. Although the response was more modest than expected, I am still glad I took on the challenge. Creating subjects that are not available as kits and experimenting with new techniques remains one of the most rewarding aspects of this hobby. I hope to continue sharing both classic and modern racing cars in future projects.
