Ferrari 637

Description

The Ferrari 637 was developed in 1986 as Ferrari explored the possibility of competing in the American CART championship.

This 1/43 scale model was built from a Provence Moulage kit and represents the Ferrari 637 in its period configuration, including the large rear wing endplates seen in contemporary photographs. The car survives today in a different configuration with shorter rear wing endplates.

For this build, I focused on the body finish, stance, and overall proportions to reproduce the appearance of the original test car.

The Ferrari 637 was developed specifically for the CART project and was tested at Fiorano by Michele Alboreto. Although the project progressed to a fully operational test car, Ferrari ultimately remained in Formula One and the 637 never competed in a race.
