Description
The Ford Cosworth DFV is an engine-only kit released by Tameo Kits.
I had always wanted to build a standalone engine, so this kit provided the perfect opportunity. Unlike an engine hidden inside a completed model, every component remains visible, allowing me to focus on finishing each individual part with the greatest possible care.
Since its debut in 1967, the Ford Cosworth DFV has become one of the most successful and iconic engines in Formula One history, powering countless championship-winning cars. Recreating such a legendary engine in 1/43 scale made this project especially rewarding.
Once completed, one thing stood out above all else—it is incredibly small. Despite its size, or perhaps because of it, this build reminded me just how enjoyable and challenging detailed scale modeling can be.
