Ferrari 642
Description
The Ferrari 642 represents another project built from the 1/43 scale range by Tameo Kits.
For this project, I returned to building two Formula One cars simultaneously, something I had not done for quite some time. Watching both models gradually evolve side by side made the building process especially enjoyable.
Tameo Kits released two different versions of the Ferrari 642, and I selected kit TMK136 for a specific reason. This version allowed me to reproduce the smoked aero screen used on the actual car, giving the finished model a more authentic appearance.
As with many older white metal kits, the original tires no longer met the level of realism I was aiming for, so they were replaced with aftermarket tires produced by Fujiya. This simple modification significantly improved the overall proportions and finish of the completed model.
Although the changes were subtle, they helped create a more accurate representation of Alain Prost’s Ferrari 642, making this another satisfying addition to my Formula One collection.
