Ferrari 642 #28 Jean Alesi

The Ferrari 642 #28 driven by Jean Alesi was built alongside Alain Prost’s #27 version as a simultaneous two-car project.

Both models were based on the Tameo Kits TMK136 kit, representing the 1991 United States Grand Prix specification. Building the two cars side by side allowed me to work through each stage of preparation, painting, and final assembly at the same time.

The 1991 United States Grand Prix was Jean Alesi’s first race for Ferrari. Driving the #28 Ferrari 642, he qualified sixth and recorded the fastest lap of the race before being classified 12th.

Although the two models share the same basic specification, building Prost’s #27 and Alesi’s #28 cars together provided an opportunity to reproduce both Ferrari entries from the opening race of the 1991 Formula One season.
