Ferrari 642
Description
The Ferrari 642 was built from a Tameo Kits 1/43 scale kit representing Alain Prost’s #27 car from the 1991 United States Grand Prix.
For this project, I returned to building two Formula One cars simultaneously, something I had not done for some time. The #27 car driven by Alain Prost was built alongside Jean Alesi’s #28 version.
Tameo Kits produced different versions of the Ferrari 642, and for this project I selected TMK136, representing the 1991 United States Grand Prix specification.
One detail I wanted to reproduce was the smoked aero screen seen on the actual car. This characteristic was incorporated into the model to match the appearance of the race specification.
The original tires were also replaced with aftermarket tires produced by Fujiya. This allowed me to adjust the tire appearance and overall stance while retaining the Tameo kit as the basis of the build.
