Ferrari F1/86 #28 Stefan Johansson

Description

The Ferrari F1/86 is another classic Formula One kit released by Tameo Kits. The kit was produced in both early-season and late-season specifications, and this model represents the early-season Brazilian Grand Prix version.

As an older kit, many structural components such as the suspension and wing endplates were originally cast in metal. To bring the model up to a more modern standard, I incorporated selected detail-up parts from Z Model. Rather than using the complete upgrade set, I carefully chose only the components that would most effectively improve the finished appearance.

The kit decals also required correction. The Agip logos supplied with the kit featured red borders that differed from the actual race car. To improve accuracy, I carefully cut and adapted the Agip markings from Tameo Kits’ Ferrari F156/85 kit and applied them to this model.

Additional improvements included replacing the headrest and kill switch with newly designed 3D-printed parts, allowing these small but important details to be reproduced more faithfully.

Although this project required a significant amount of time and careful refinement, transforming a classic kit with modern techniques made it an especially satisfying and rewarding build.
