Porsche 963
Description
Porsche 963 is a completed model created from 3D data and produced using modern digital manufacturing techniques.
The main body and many components were 3D printed, while the tires were produced using a flexible rubber-like material. The window parts were vacuum-formed, and numerous custom photo-etched parts were incorporated throughout the model, including the rear wing and other fine details.
Small components such as the wiper were newly designed in 3D and printed specifically for this project. Clear resin 3D printed parts were also used for the rear indicator lenses, helping to reproduce the appearance of the real car as accurately as possible.
Although the finished model may appear straightforward at first glance, many areas were refined and upgraded. Combining 3D printing, vacuum forming, photo-etching, and traditional model-making techniques made this a particularly rewarding project.
When people think of Le Mans, Porsche is often one of the first manufacturers that comes to mind. That was certainly true for me, and it was one of the reasons I chose to build this model.
This Porsche 963 also represents an important milestone within my Le Mans collection. Having built many Le Mans cars from different eras, completing the 963 as a modern Hypercar felt like reaching a personal turning point. It is a model that not only reflects technical challenges, but also celebrates the continuing evolution of Le Mans racing.
