DeltaWing

Nissan DeltaWing was one of the most unique cars to compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. When STUDIO27 released this 1/43 scale kit, I immediately knew it was a subject I wanted to build.

Although the car appears simple at first glance, the kit required a considerable amount of additional work. I enhanced various areas including the antenna, cockpit side equipment, and rear section to better capture the distinctive details of the original machine.

The decals supplied with the kit were extremely thin and delicate, so after application I sealed them with a semi-gloss clear coat to improve durability and achieve a more realistic finish. The black bodywork itself was relatively straightforward, but the overall build demanded patience and careful attention throughout the process.

The DeltaWing remains one of the most innovative and memorable Le Mans prototypes of its era, and recreating its unconventional shape in 1/43 scale was a rewarding challenge.
