Shadow DN8 early ver.
Description
This 1/43 scale Shadow DN8 kit was produced by This Way Up in both early- and late-season versions.
I chose to build this model because Riccardo Patrese is one of my favorite Formula One drivers. My long-term goal is to build every Formula One car he raced during his career, and this model represents the beginning of that personal project. Patrese made his Formula One debut in the Shadow DN8 #16 at the 1977 Monaco Grand Prix, finishing ninth.
Although the kit was originally designed as a proportional model, I added further mechanical detail, including the Cosworth DFV engine, ignition wiring, and other small components.
The Shadow DN8 represents the beginning of Riccardo Patrese’s Formula One career and holds a special place in my collection. The late-season version is also waiting to be built, and I look forward to completing the pair in the future.
