Panhard-Monopole X88
Description
The Panhard-Monopole X88 was a model I had wanted to build for a long time. However, very little reference material was available, which made the project quite challenging. Fortunately, a friend provided several valuable photographs that helped me research and complete the model.
The windscreen was originally completed once, but I was not satisfied with the result and decided to remake it. The wheels were also redesigned and produced using a 3D printer, as the kit parts lacked crisp detail and would have been difficult to paint accurately.
For the body color, I used Tamiya French Blue. To achieve a deeper and more substantial tone, I first applied a black base coat before spraying the French Blue over it.
I also recreated the instrument panel, although it is almost completely hidden once the model is assembled. Even so, I believe that adding these unseen details contributes to the overall quality and authenticity of the finished model.
Despite the limited reference material, this project allowed me to combine research, problem-solving, and custom fabrication techniques, making it a particularly rewarding build.
