Ferrari 166 MM

Ferrari 166 MM was my first Le Mans Ferrari project.

While the finished model may appear relatively straightforward at first glance, a considerable amount of work went into refining and upgrading various areas. The tires were produced from 3D data created by Akihiro Kamimura and printed in flexible resin to better reproduce the appearance of the original car.

The exhaust system was completely rebuilt using a combination of 3D-printed parts and nickel silver tubing. Custom photo-etched parts were created for the window frames, while the front grille mesh was replaced with components from Z Model. The rear license plate frame was also scratch-built from nickel silver sheet.

In addition, numerous custom-designed photo-etched parts were incorporated throughout the model to enhance realism and capture the character of the original Ferrari as accurately as possible.

Although the completed model may look simple, it contains a significant amount of modification, fabrication, and attention to detail. For me, it remains a memorable project that reflects both technical challenges and a passion for craftsmanship.
