Lotus 72D
Description
The Lotus 72D was my first full-detail Formula One model built from a Tameo Kits kit.
Unlike a proportional model, every major internal component—including the chassis, suspension, and engine—was carefully assembled and detailed. Although much of this work is hidden once the body panels are installed, I believe the process of recreating the unseen mechanical structure is one of the most rewarding aspects of building a full-detail model.
The Lotus 72 is regarded as one of the most successful and influential Formula One cars ever built. Its wedge-shaped design and innovative engineering changed the direction of Grand Prix racing, making it an icon of motorsport history.
Completing this model gave me a deeper appreciation for both the engineering of the original car and the craftsmanship required to reproduce it in 1/43 scale. Tameo Kits has released several other versions of the Lotus 72, and I hope to build another variant in the future.
